In a recent interview, Hillary Clinton indicated that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wants to elect President Donald Trump again. She names Zuckerberg as “authoritarian” and blamed him for misinformation policy.
On Saturday, Hillary Clinton was talking to The Atlantic regarding Facebook’s misinformation policy. She discussed why Zuckerberg is refusing to remove fake information from his social media networks.
Hillary said, “It’s Trumpian, It’s authoritarian” Mark Zuckerberg is “somehow persuaded that it’s to his and Facebook’s advantage not to cross Trump. That’s what I believe. And it just gives me a pit in my stomach.”
Moreover, she added that Facebook does not remove political advertisements with forged information that can ultimately help Trump in the 2020 election. Clinton further said that there is enough evidence to consider that the Facebook CEO is working to elect the president again.
In October 2019, Mark Zuckerberg’s audio was leaked from the July meeting. In the leaked audio, the social media giant was discussing his concerns over Sen. Elizabeth Warren winning the election.
While talking to his employees, Zuckerberg said: “If she gets elected president, then I would bet that we will have a legal challenge, and I would bet that we will win that legal challenge. And does that suck for us? Yeah, I mean, I don’t want to have a major lawsuit against our own government,” he said, adding, “If someone’s going to try to threaten something that existential, you go to the mat and you fight.”
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) has publicly revealed her plans regarding Facebook. She promised to tear apart the platform after winning the 2020 presidential election. Previously, she purchased a fake political ad to reveal how Zuckerberg helped Trump in winning the previous election.
The former secretary of state also shared her thoughts regarding Zuckerberg’s power in the world.
“I feel like you’re negotiating with a foreign power sometimes. [Zuckerberg is] immensely powerful. This is a global company that has a huge influence in ways that we’re only beginning to understand.”
